The ThinManager training is a 2 day programme to go over the general concept of ThinManager, thin clients and how they function together.
 
Going through how to configure and setup the ThinManager servers in a redundant configuration and then how to integrate RDS servers. Once configured, you’ll learn how to add Display Clients, assign them to thin clients and configure multiple sources for each client, automatic logon and content assignment specific to the user.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand and describe what ThinManager is and it’s use cases. 
  • Have a good understanding of the terminology used when working with ThinManager.
  • Navigate the ThinManager interface.
  • Understand the licensing model ThinManager uses and how it works alongside RDS CALs.
  • Configure Remote Desktop Services to work with ThinManager.
  • Connect terminals to ThinManager.
  • Configure and use Display Clients to display content on the thinclients.
  • Create and configure Terminal Groups to aid with thinclient management.
  • Monitor and control thinclients remotely using ThinManager’s shadow function.
  • Know the difference between ThinManager Ready and PXE boot clients.
  • Configure and run reports on terminal statistics and audit logs.
  • Setup IP cameras to display on clients when needed.
  • Split a single client into multiple screens using Virtual Screens.
  • Assign specific content to specific terminals or specific users.
  • Integrate ThinManager into an existing Active Directory environment.
  • Use RFID card readers to login to specific applications or specific users.

  • Add hardware and configure thin clients.
Section 5 - User Account Lab
  • Set up auto-login for non-domain and domain user accounts.
Section 6 - Display Client Lab
  • Explore application links, failover, instant failover, and more.
  • Configure display clients for various scenarios.
Section 6 - MultiSession & Hotkey Lab
  • Apply changes to display clients.
Section 7 - Failover vs. Redundancy
  • Understand redundancy modes.
  • Perform redundancy and failover labs.
Section 8 - Terminal Groups
  • Use the Terminal Group Configuration Wizard.
  • Add and remove terminals from groups.

Section 4 - Virtual Screens
  • Create quad virtual screens on a 4K monitor.
  • Apply virtual screen display clients to terminals.
  • Customise display resolutions for widescreen and 4:3 virtual screens.
Section 5 - Relevance User Services
  • Explore user types (Windows, Relevance, ThinManager Security Group).
  • Learn about relevance user login strategies and deploy services.
Section 6 - Terminal Specific Applications
  • Create access groups and add them to display clients.
  • Configure terminals for relevance.
  • Set up relevance users and test the results.
Section 7 - User Specific Applications
  • Understand domain and non-domain relevance users.
